Abode was created because of a desire to help people protect their assets by ensuring their home purchases are made with as much knowledge and education as possible. Our inspections are thorough, meticulous, and strive to provide more detail and education than is typical in the industry.

Amanda received a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering (Structural Systems emphasis) from the University of Georgia, and a master's degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Civil/Structural Engineering. She has fourteen years' experience working in related fields including forensic engineering (performing building and structure damage assessments after disasters, large structural failure investigations, and investigations to find the origins/causes of water damage and structural failures to residential properties), design engineering, inspections and construction.

She enjoyed forensics work, yet it felt like something was missing. She wanted to make a positive contribution on a more personal level, rather than for faceless large insurance and legal corporations. She had always loved everything relating to homes and real estate, and after having purchased (and sold) three homes, with varying levels of satisfaction with the home inspection process each time, she decided that helping potential homebuyers avoid some of the pitfalls she endured was a way to contribute positive energy to the world.

As your home inspector, Amanda strives to provide a thorough overview of the property you are purchasing, and hopefully help you understand more about the systems in your home, how to care for them, and provide tips for spotting problems before they become catastrophic.
